for my desktop machine: a two-screen spread of a section of the top-left of Launch Base Zone, whose boss is Big Arms, the machine's hostnamesake.

for my laptop: Jackle (its hostnamesake) floating in front of the interobject tarot cards they throw at you during their boss fight.

Is it weird that I'm a default wallpapers type of guy? (But if there's a good one I'll go out of my way to keep it in new releases.) idk, I basically always have maximized windows and don't see my desktop very much, so I don't think about it!

This is the Plasma 6.0 wallpaper "Scarlet Tree" by axo1otl.

I'm sorry for my grave transgression :eggbug_pensive:

This is my main laptop, clownpiece. The panel is on the top because apparently the only kind of laptop display you can buy wholesale has rounded corners (!?), and it looks better this way than blocking the title bar of a maximized window.

Wallpaper is eternalbliss (ogxbox ver) from desktop::generations Volume 3.

the wallpaper is a modified commission that eli was working on in blender that I helped set up lights and postprocessing on, there was a different subject that I switched out for a snom model that we worked on together

this is my surface pro 11, which sure is a device

Oooo, these all look so pretty! I'd share mine but uh... I think I'd get yelled at for how badly cluttered it is with icons. Maybe I can use this thread as motivation to clean it up! XD

the best part is you can repeat this again and again

I think the only reason I don't have one of these atm is that at some point I started creating ~/scratch to do temp stuff in and that pattern stuck

Nope, I'm the exact same way lol

This is the Fedora 37 default background (daytime variant—I keep it static, but it looks like the top-level metadata for the old wallpapers wasn't updated to work with Plasma 6 anyway). I'll peek at the new one every time I hop Fedora releases, and if I like it more then I'll use it. I let the SDDM login screen use the newest default regardless though, for a little variety.

The desktop items here are all several years old, mostly consisting of shortcuts from Wine's desktop (mainly from GOG installers). I never touch any of them, and yet I can't bring myself to disable desktop icons outright...

...even though my single-monitor laptop workspace usually has Many windows in the way. (Though I don't actually maximize them unless I need/want to use the extra space! So usually I'll have e.g. all those stacked Firefox windows, but the wallpaper will still be visible around the screen edges.)

Edit: I dunno what neo[wo]fetch is thinking by calling my network "Wifi6", both the Wi-Fi card and the access point are merely 802.11ac lol

Just for that, I'm gonna dig up some of my really old desktop screenshots next time I'm looking through backups, they were real bad :P

ohhhh yeah if we're doing old desktops too, I used to have so many icons that I ran out of room and they would start overlapping lol

I probably still have a screenshot kicking around somewhere...
