Would something like this work? (Edit: The rounded edges were added as a test. I want to eventually get the custom avatar overlay like Cohost set up, so it might just be a square like the rest for the moment.)

I know you showed it as taking up both lines. The concern I have is the timestamp is part of the post area, so the layout would need to be reworked to allow for the avatar to span both.

oh yeah, that totally makes sense - i didn't look at the markup at all since i was on my, uh, mobile device at the time :P but yeah, it'd just be nice for there to be something, yknow

No worries, I just wanted to make sure it didn't seem too small. I agree though, it feels weird not having avatars on mobile.

Done!

And left the rounded corners in for now. I'm sure I'll remember to remove it if/when I do the custom overlay thing. I'm very good at remembering things 8)

heck yeah I didn't realize how much I was missing avatars
